Alfred Lewis Levitt was a victim of the Hollywood Blacklist during the 1950s, which adversely affected many people in Hollywood, and screenwriters in particular. In this personal essay, prepared for the Writers Guild of America membership, Levitt reflects on his use of a pseudonym during this time and recalls the origins of his chosen name and the fear of being discovered. He also describes working with Walt Disney and working with his wife Helen as a writing partner.
