The Radiative Drivers of Climate Change

  • 01:06:46

Description

We present four new findings regarding the state of knowledge and remaining uncertainties concerning the main anthropogenic agents of climate change, namely carbon dioxide and methane. We will show the first direct observations of the upward trends in the greenhouse effects (GHEs) of these gases, a demonstration that the remaining uncertainties in carbon dioxide's GHE are negligible even though climate models do not reflect the attainable accuracies, and first use of Jovian planetary measurements to produce spatially and temporally resolved calculations of methane's heating of the climate system by absorption of sunlight.
