This certificate attests that a Gemini IV mission patch belonging to the Museum flew in space with astronaut Kjell Lindgren. He asked to borrow an item related to Gemini IV to take on his 2015 mission to the International Space Station. As a spacewalk-qualified astronaut, Lindgren wanted to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the first U.S. spacewalk, which occurred on the Gemini IV mission in 1965. The Museum lent a Gemini IV mission patch depicting that event. This certificate includes a record of Lindgren's flight and a photo of the patch flying near the windows of the space station cupola. The patch is one of the first two Museum artifacts flown on a Soyuz spacecraft and the International Space Station. Lindgren presented this certificate upon returning the patch to the Museum in 2016.
