This poster was created by Martin Marietta Corporation, an American company that specializes in chemicals, aerospace, and electronics, for the Space Shuttle program. Martin Marietta, which would latter merge with Lockheed Corporation, designed and built the external tank of the space transportation system (STS). This poster features a large stylized drawing of the space shuttle being launched using the orange external fuel tank and two solid rocket booster that made up the STS with the shuttle.
NASA transferred this poster to the Museum in 2017.
