A newspaper-sponsored Buck Rogers fan club issued this lithographed tin tab pin to members around 1957.

This item was one of many premium toys of the era distributed through food company, newspaper, and radio station promotional campaigns. Some promotions required the submission of box top proof of purchase and payment for shipping and handling. Others asked fans to mail away for premiums advertised by sponsors of related radio and TV shows. Premiums included badges, toys, maps, or books as well as the opportunity to join a fan club run by a newspaper or radio station.

Collector Michael O'Harro donated this pin to the Museum in 1993.
