This letter from the Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives (J. Dennis Hastert, 2003) accompanied the flag flown over the U.S. Capitol after the deaths of seven astronauts aboard the Space Shuttle Columbia. The Speaker presented the flag to the Museum to commemorate their courage as explorers. The presentation folder is embossed with the seal of the Speaker of the House of Representatives of the United States.
