This is the Explorer S-46 unencapsulated scaler deck G. It is a prototype of the final design for deck G with all final components. These are components from a payload inventory originally intended for the University of Iowa payload packages for early Explorer satellites. It was in George Ludwig's possession since they were built in the late 1950s. Donated by Dr. George Ludwig in 2006.
