This "Space Shuttle" construction set includes building bricks designed to allow the user to create a version of a Space Shuttle orbiter. The final vehicle that can be assembled has the official NASA emblem as well as the United States flag and the name, "Discovery."
The set includes pieces modeled on the looks and dimensions of another well-known building brick plaything as well as a multipiece figure. The label indicates that these pieces can be integrated with other construction block toys.
Toys like this set represent the many ways that children could learn about the Space Shuttle Program through play.
Valerie Neal donated the toy to the Museum in 2008.
