The Kodak A-2 hand-held aerial camera is displayed with the deHavilland DH-4 aircraft as it was used by the United States Army Air Service in World War I to take oblique photos over the side of an open-cockpit aircraft. The camera has two 4x5 plate magazines, "iron sights" and strap. Model A2 was used by USAAS in World War I; the A1 was used by the Navy (see A19830030000) .
