Cmdr. Albert C. Read carried this course plotter during NC-4's transatlantic flight. Read later presented the plotter to Navy aircraft mechanic Charles J. Boyd for his work on the aircraft.

Used by Commander A. C. Read on flight of NC-4 across Atlantic in May 1919. Presented by Commander Read to Charles J. Boyd, who was an aircraft mechanic who worked on the NC-4.
