Powdered tea, coffee, and juice are typical Shuttle-era menu items. Astronauts may choose a variety of beverages for meals and snacks. Like most foods stocked on the Shuttle this tea has been processed for storage at room temperature and packaged in a single portion. The container has a small injection port for adding hot or cold water to dissolve the powder into a drinkable cup of tea. NASA has transferred a variety of space food to the Museum after Shuttle missions.
