Date July 18, 1837 Type ART-Paintings Medium Painting, Watercolor on Paper Physical Description Watercolor painting of Mr. Cocking in the basket of his parachute, right before ascension in the Royal Vauxhall Gardens. The parachute is shown hovering a few feet above the ground, with the Royal Nassau Balloon beyond the edge of the painting. Mr. Cocking is shaking hands with a few figures that are gathered around the basket. A larger crowd of observers is seen in the background. Dimensions 2-D - Unframed (H x W): 23 × 36.8cm (9 1/16 × 14 1/2 in.)
