This stopwatch was carried by John Glenn on his Mercury Friendship 7 mission in February 1962.

It was manufactured by the Heuer Company of Switzerland, and was fitted with an elastic band to enable it to be worn on his arm for easy and consistent access.

Transferred from NASA in 1967.
