This a full-scale model of the first HawkEye 360 satellite launched in December 2018, one of 18 satellites that will orbit in clusters of three in the first commercial constellation to intercept and geolocate radio signals in the very high, ultra high, and super high frequency bands. These signals are used by many radars, land and maritime mobile communications devices, and other types of electronic equipment. Often combined with imagery and other types of information, the HawkEye 360 data is very helpful in performing a wide range of missions, including detecting and tracking ships that have turned off their Automatic Identification System, assisting with disaster relief by precisely locating emergency beacons, and supporting unknown defense and intelligence requirements. HawkEye 360 made and donated this model.
