Collection History: Said to have been owned by Chief Keokuk (Kiyo 'kaga/Watchful Fox, Sauk, ca. 1780-1848); given by his son Chief Moses Keokuk (Sac and Fox, 1821-1903) to “Agent Woodyard” (possibly Levi Jacob Woodard [or Woodward], 1830-1882, who was appointed as the U.S, Indian Service agent for the Sac and Fox, Absentee Shawnee, and Mexican Kickapoo in 1876); purchased by MAI from an unknown source circa 1923.
