Formerly owned by Minik Wallace (Inughuit, ca. 1890-1918), who was brought to New York City with his family in 1897 by Arctic explorer Robert E. Peary (1856-1920); probably acquired by Minik Wallace when he returned to Greenland after 1910; purchased by MAI from Minik Wallace in 1917.
