Collection History
Formerly installed at the Moon House (Dís hít) at Lost River, Alaska, and subsequently at Port Mulgrave in Yakutat Bay, Alaska; after 1890 it was moved to a village on Khantaak Island (wherever the posts were installed was called the "Moon house"); purchased by MAI from an unknown source in 1930 using funds donated by George Heye's sister, Marie Heye Clemens (Mrs. James B. Clemens, 1869-1943).
