Collected in 1848 by Dr. George Roper (1832-1898, later an eminent obstetrician in Cambridge, England) while he was posted on the Hudson's Bay Company ship "Prince Albert"; transferred to or inherited by his sister Sophia Roper Freeman (Mrs. George Freeman, 1837-1899) and subsequently by Sophia Freeman's daughter Mabel Sophia Freeman (1861-1941, of Bude, Cornwall, England); purchased by George Heye from Mabel Freeman in 1930.
