Collection history unknown, but said to have been collected in 1860 near the Canadian border in Montana; formerly in the collection of journalist and explorer Nelson Revitt Perry (1894-1964); presumably donated by Nelson Perry to the Schenectady Museum Association (Schenectady, New York) at an unknown date; acquired by MAI through an exchange with the Schenectady Museum Association in 1964.
