Formerly owned by Philip Backfat Sr. (Siksika Blackfoot, 1874-1954); transferred to Alphonse Sleigh (Eagle Ribs, Siksika Blackfoot) before 1938; transferred to Fred Big Tobacco (Kainai [Blood], Gleichen, Alberta) in 1960; inherited by Big Tobacco's wife upon his death in the early 1970s; purchased from her by Pawel M. Raczka (Sun Valley, Idaho); purchased by Carlyn Ring from Pawel Raczka; donated to NMAI by Carlyn Ring in 2006.
