Formerly owned by Mrs. Jackson in Wrangell, Alaska; acquired by Sarah Peratrovich Wigg (Mrs. Fred Wigg, 1902-1975, a Tlingit informant for Axel Rasmussen and George T. Emmons) at an unknown date; acquired from Mrs. Wigg in 1930 by Axel Rasmussen (1886-1945, a collector and superintendent of schools in Wrangell and Sitka, Alaska); lent by Axel Rasmussen to the Wrangell Institute (a Native boarding School in Wrangell, Alaska) at an unknown date and presumably transferred to the Institute's possession with Rasmussen's death in 1945; purchased by Susan D. Barrow (1907-1988, a teacher at the Wrangell Institute) and her husband Henry D. Barrow (1909-1987, a ship captain) from the Wrangell Institute in 1945; purchased by MAI from Mr. and Mrs. Barrow in 1948.
