Collected between 1925 and 1926 by Reverend Leonard Livingston Legters (1873-1940, a missionary who worked in Mexico and Brazil and was a founder of the Wycliffe Bible Society/Wycliffe Bible Translators); lent to MAI by Reverend Leonard Legters in 1939; inherited by his son Reverend David Brainerd Legters (1908-2002); purchased by MAI from Reverend David Legters in 1946.
