Probably collected by Edwin Copley Wemple (1885-1937, a lumberman and collector of rare woods who made several trips to Panama); inherited by his widow Isabel Popkin Wemple (1894-1971); subsequently inherited by her sister Winifred N. Popkins (1896-1991); donated to MAI by Winifred Popkins in 1974 in memory of Edwin Copley Wemple.
