Collected from Zuni potter Kyusita (Cayusetsa, ca. 1896-1977) by anthropologist Frederick Webb Hodge (1864-1956, MAI staff member) as part of a 1918 pottery-making demonstration; MAI staff member George Hubbard Pepper (1873-1924) also photographed Kyusita during the demonstration, which took place during the Hendricks-Hodge Hawikku Expedition, which was led by Hodge and sponsored by MAI and MAI trustee Harmon W. Hendricks (1846-1928).
