Collection History
Formerly owned by Chief Shakes (probably Gush Tlein, Chief Shakes VI, who held the title Chief Shakes from 1878 until his passing in 1916); acquired from members of the Shakes family by Judge Nathan Bijur (1862-1930), probably between 1905 and 1910; inherited by his widow Lilly Prochownick Bijur (1867-1944) and son Harry Ash Bijur (1887-1972); purchased by MAI from Harry Bijur in 1965.
