A Doppler on Wheels mobile radar unit monitors the Robert Fire area in western Montana on August 1, 2003. The smoke is from a back-burn set to burn off fuel ahead of the advancing fire. The site was close to the fire, but protected by a river, near Blankenship, Montana.
