An instrument developed by NCAR scientists, the High Resolution Dynamic Limb Sounder (HIRDLS), will measure atmospheric temperature and composition between 5-50 miles above the surface of the Earth as part of the EOS. John Gille is the principal investigator for the U.S. portion of HIRDLS.
