Show moreThe NCAR Scientific Balloon Facility (NSBF) Annual Report 1969 includes information on facilities, major equipment, balloon design and dynamics, ballooning systems and techniques, electronic support systems, flight services at NCAR fixed facilities, personnel, funding, panel meetings, Scientific Ballooning Standards Committee (ad hoc), and plans for 1970. A total of 69 flights were flown for 35 scientific groups from 25 institutions and 7 countries. Flights were flown from Palestine, Texas, Roswell, New Mexico, Dowagiac, Michigan, Broomfield, Colorado, and Parana, Argentina with a 84% success rate. The NCAR Panel on the Scientific Use of Balloons met in Boulder twice. Show less
