Larned family.

Simon Larned (1753-1817) was born in Connecticut and later became a merchant and banker in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. He served in the Revolutionary War as a captain in the 4th Massachusetts Regiment, commanded by Colonel William Sheppard. Simon Larned's brother, Thaddeus (1756-1819), was a farmer, magistrate, and land speculator in Thompson, CT. Noadiah, the son of Thaddeus, also farmed the family's Thompson lands.
