The Southern Rural Training Project was sponsored by the Southern Sharecroppers' Fund and funded through the U.S. Office of Economic Opportunity. The project was designed to assist in the development of community action, education, and job-training programs in the rural areas of Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee.
