Seattle women's organization dedicated to the enhancement and beautification of the City of Seattle. Founded in 1968 by Anne Gould Hauberg (daughter of architect Carl F. Gould), Anne Robinson, and Jacquetta Blanchett Freeman, and incorporated in 1978 as a non-profit corporation, the Committee is limited to 33 active members. Committee meets monthly to investigate and discuss possible civic projects. Committee projects include installation of a Haida totem pole next to the Montlake ship canal, renovation of the Prefontaine Place Fountain in 1970, landscaping the South Lake Union Park, and funding the Seattle Art Museum banners on University Street.
