Charles W. Taussig was the chairman of the board of Sucrest Corp., New York, New York. He authored two books on the history of the sugar industry.

Charles W. Taussig (1896-1948) was President of the American Molasses Company in 1933, when he became one of the original members of the "brains trust." From 1935 to 1934, he served as Chairman of the National Advisory Committee of the National Youth Administration. Taussig served on the Anglo-American Caribbean Commission, as co-chairman in 1942, and as chairman of the American delegation from 1946 until his death in 1948. He also served as a member of the President's Council for the Virgin Islands, chairman of the U.S. Commission to study Social and Economic Conditions in the British East Indies, and on the United Nations Conference on International Organization.
