Frederick Bridge was a musician, composer, and teacher of music. He was best known as the organist of Manchester Cathedral and later Westminster Abbey, providing music for many special occasions in the reigns of Victoria, Edward VII, and George V. He also composed choral works and held several prestigious teaching positions. He was also instrumental in updating the organ at Manchester Cathedral.
