Born in Everett, Mass., Feb. 27, 1866. Taught at Cornell University, Art Institute of Chicago, Pratt Institute and American Academy of Rome. Work includes statues, memorials, monuments, friezes. Established the American Indian as a legitimate artistic theme; d. 1947; husband of sculptor Carol Brooks MacNeil.
