Born James Thomas Harrison on December 11, 1937 in Grayling, Michigan. Harrison has published books in several genres throughout his career, including poetry, fiction, nonfiction, screenplays, and children's literature. The films Legends of the Fall and Wolf were based on his writing. He is also an avid fisherman, game bird hunter, and environmentalist.
