Chennevières, Philippe de, 1820-1899.
Author of works about literature, history and arts, Philippe de Chennevières also had a successful administrative career. He was nominated museums inspector, then director of the Beaux-arts from the end of Dec. 1873 to Feb. 1879, when he resigned for political reasons.
