Day family.

The Day family of Connecticut traces its American origins to Robert Day (1604-1648), who settled in Massachusetts in 1634 and shortly thereafter relocated in Connecticut. Several generations of family members, many of whom are represented in this collection, were educated at Yale University and later taught or held administrative positions there. Many family members chose a religious career, including Jeremiah Day (1737-1806), Jeremiah Day (1773-1867), Henry Noble Day (1808-1890), and Mills Day (1783-1812).
