Many kinds of identifier have an NAA component. This includes the URL hostname, ARK NAAN, DOI Prefix, Handle Naming Authority, and URN Namespace Identifier. Often an NAA also starts out as an NMA.
More general examples include (a) creators of software that assign version numbers, (b) repository services that assign unique identifiers to data deposits, and (c) people who contribute terms to a metadata dictionary. |
