Resumo

Atividades aquáticas infantis e pré-escolares tem sido parte da vida desde que o homem iniciou sua associação a água. Já foi sugerido por alguns escritores de antropologia e evolução (2-4); que o homem possa ter tido um passado aquático. Já foi postulado que estes 3 a 5 milhões de anos adaptando-se à água tenham nos impulsionado a frente dos demais primatas no processo da evolução humana.

John Bainbridge, Australian Swim School

In 1977, John Bainbridge opened the first Australian Swim School in Fountain Valley, California, after finishing his thesis about infant swimming. With a couple of Instructors and our trademark infant back floating method, we were off and swimming, educating Orange County about the dangers of infant/toddler drownings as well as the wonderful rewards of swimming for health and fitness. In time, our floating babies advanced into super smart swimmers that paved the way to the O.C. competitive swimming scene.
