Special Stanley supplement (No.1). H.M. Stanley's explorations in the dark continent - map of the route and a portrait group of the officers of his Expedition. Drawn by W. & A.K. Johnston, Ed. Daily Graphic
"The special Stanley Number of the 'The Graphic', published on April 20th, was in such demand that the issue was out of print in two days. As it as not possible to reprint the entire number, and as great interest continues to be shown by the public in the narrative and illustrations, it has been decided to reprint the chief portion's of Dr. Felkin's article and the leading illustrations, and to publish them as Special Supplements to 'The Daily Graphic.' These Supplements, of which this is the first will be issued twice weekly until completed." (Footnote).
