O.G. Dunckel Letter : May 31, 1864

This is a letter from O.G. Dunckel, a Union soldier, to his wife Elizabeth and their children. Dunckel has been sick, and his regiment is now very close to the fighting on the front. He asks his wife about the state of the farm and reminds her to do several chores. He includes a list of how much some regular grocery items cost in Georgia. He also asks for her to send him stamps because they cannot buy any near their camp. At the end of the letter, he addresses his children separately.
