Filmmaker Shinpei Takeda interviews Nagasaki atomic bombing survivor Sue Carpenter and her husband Lonnie Carpenter

Sue Carpenter, speaking both in Japanese and English, says that she was bringing something to her sister, who worked in the Mitsubishi factory, when the atomic bomb detonated over Nagasaki. She says that she was literally "blown up" and buried in the debris, yet somehow survived. She talks about experiencing discrimination over the years because of the injuries and radiation-related diseases she still suffers. Carpenter also talks about marrying United States Navy serviceman Lonnie Carpenter and coming with him to the U.S. Her husband Lonnie Carpenter talks about living with his wife's symptoms throughout their entire marriage.
