President Obama makes a statement about the Senate's confirmation of Richard Cordray as director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Obama talks about the work of the agency and Cordray's qualifications. He also discusses the roadblock in the Senate that prevented Cordray's timely confirmation which was only broken after Republicans and Democrats came to agreement on the confirmation process and filibuster rules. Cordray says he appreciates the appointment and wants to get to work making financial markets work better for middle-class American consumers.
