He reiterates what he sent by express, but says that the package containing his clothes was stopped by the authorities and he isn't sure if it will go through. Baker, a man from home that Davis loaned money to, cannot pay back the loan until June, and Davis wants to make sure that his wife collects the interest and does not make any more loans unless she can be sure that they will pay it back on time and with interest. He reports that there isn't any war news, but that some anticipate a fight will happen at Vicksburg soon. Davis will include some letters written by his wife in this letter with her grammar corrected to study.
