James Lickly writes to his brother William noting that he is in decent health that is improving, and that the weather has been mild and rainy. Lickly writes that they are seeking recruitments because sickness and death have deeply impacted the Regiment, even though little fighting has occurred. He suspects there have been between 30 and 40 deaths in the Regiment since coming to Kentucky. Lickly continues by asking that William look out for his little family during the winter, as they have moved into George Evatts' house.
