Simeon A. Howe Letter : April 8, 1865

Simeon just heard that General Grant captured Petersburg and Richmond. He was told by his superiors that he would likely be back in Michigan within three months. He tells his son Arden to study geography and spelling so he can learn about and name all the places his dad visited during the war.
