Field notebooks, photographs, and documents of botanist and agronomist Wilson Popenoe (1892-1975). Popenoe studied avocados and other fruit and plant life, primarily in Latin America. He worked for the United States Department of Agriculture in the role of agricultural explorer from 1914-1925, including work with the University of California College of Agriculture. In 1925, he became chief agronomist of the United Fruit Company in Honduras. View collection guide.
