Scope and Content
This collection (1978-1994) contains agendas, minutes, brochures, articles, and reports. The agendas and minutes provide continuing documentation of the Committee and include discussions of projects, committee assignments, and public relations. There are also a number of materials concerning the Committee’s development of a mentoring program. This series includes notes on mentoring, names of participants, and a booklet titled, "Careers for Women in Nuclear Science and Technology." There is also a series of articles discussing the problem of radiation exposure and discrimination.

Biography/Profile
The Professional Women in the ANS (American Nuclear Society) Committee was formed as a standing committee in the American Nuclear Society in 1982. Its purpose, as noted in its operating plan, is to provide a forum for the exchange of information among the women members to be recognized and become active participants. The Committee also focuses on encouraging women to enter into careers in the nuclear industry by publications and a mentoring program.
