COUNTY AGENT PROJECT PROJECT NUMBER Progress Report (Misc) State Office 379 DATED: November 1, 1941 Clark County 38 NAME OF PROJECT: Drainage Owing to there being no provisions made for securing finances with which to carry on extended programs of improvement of the Moapa Valley Flood Channel and side wash drainage areas, the Moapa Soil Conservation District Supervisors in cooperation with the Muddy Valley Irrigation Company directors and the Clark County Farm Bureau Directors concluded that the most consistent procedure would be to organize a Moapa Valley Drainage District. This move had its inception during the previous year of 1940. Consequently, a conference of these agencies with the Muddy Valley Irrigation Company's Attorney Leo A. McNamee details of the organization setup were worked out, petitions prepared for County Commissioners and plans of procedure for securing the signup of cooperators was begun. During the course of the year the necessary property owners with corresponding required acreages to legally set up an organization were secured. With the close of the report period, plans were underway to complete the listing of property owners with corresponding acreages for presentation to the County Commissioners, early in 1942.
