The Edmund P. Warren Papers (1940-2005) consist of Warren’s personal collection of travel documentation, newspaper clippings, promotional materials from casinos and shows, and dining ephemera primarily from Las Vegas, Nevada.

Scope and Contents Note

The Edmund P. Warren Papers (1940-2005) consist of personal papers, promotional materials, restaurant menus and dining ephemera, and newspaper clippings dating from approximately 1940 to 2005. Materials include childhood scrapbooks and materials pertaining to his domestic and international travel. The collection also includes various restaurant menus, ephemera, and placemats from restaurants primarily in Las Vegas, Nevada. The promotional materials include fliers and invitations to events, as well as playbills and advertisements for shows in Las Vegas. The newspaper clippings range from the 1960s to 2002 and include complete issues of the Nevada Casino Journal.

Biographical / Historical Note

Edmund (Edward) P. Warren, Jr., was born September 15, 1934 in San Francisco, California. After Warren completed high school he attended the University of San Francisco, and enlisted in the United States Army in 1963. In the 1970s Warren moved to Lake Tahoe, California. He later moved to Las Vegas, Nevada where he worked for the Holiday and Station Casinos. Warren actively collected menus and dining ephemera while he lived in Las Vegas and traveled internationally. He donated hundreds of menus, placemats, and dining ephemera items to the University of Nevada, Las Vegas Special Collections and Archives. They are included in the UNLV University Libraries Menu Collection, 1852-2010.

Warren died on March 12, 2010.
